Throughout my journey providing pedicure and manicure services to clients, I encountered countless situations that deeply moved me, moments I could never forget. Many of my elderly clients suffered from swollen, painful feet due to diabetes, arthritis, or simply aging. For them, putting on shoes or sandals was a real struggle. I often found myself gently removing their socks and footwear just to begin the service. I witnessed, firsthand, the discomfort and limitations they lived with every day.
Some clients were bedridden or confined to wheelchairs, requiring us to provide care right at their bedside. They wore regular clothing, tight, restrictive, and difficult to change. It wasn’t just hard for them, it was challenging for caregivers, too. In those moments, a question kept echoing in my mind:
“Why isn’t there something that makes it easier for them?”
That question sparked a journey of research, reflection, and purpose. Eventually, it led to the creation of TapGolden, a brand dedicated to adaptive clothing and footwear for seniors and individuals with special needs. During my research, I discovered that others around the world had already begun this mission. They called it adaptive clothing for seniors. I didn’t want to compete with them. I wanted to contribute.
TapGolden was born not just as a business, but as a heartfelt response, one shaped by years of hands-on experience, empathy, and a deep understanding of what elderly clients truly need.
The market for these products is vast. But I don’t see it as a competition. I see it as a shared journey, of integration, cooperation, and compassion. A journey to bring comfort and dignity to the senior community across Canada, the U.S., and beyond. Each TapGolden item, whether it’s a shirt, a pair of pants, slippers, or shoes, is not just a product. It’s a story, a gesture of care, and a message of gratitude.
TapGolden is “A nostalgic brand, one that honors the value of life through the story each product tells”.
